About The Event
Her Frame, Her Sound: Women Seen, Women Heard
As we mark International Women's Month, Her Frame, Her Sound: Women Seen, Women Heard invites audiences to celebrate the creativity, achievements and voices of women through an inspiring evening of photography, live music and conversation.
Supported by the Dutch Embassy in London, this special event highlights the continuing importance of recognising women's contributions to culture, the arts and public life, while reflecting on the broader challenges of representation and visibility that women continue to face around the world.
The evening centres on a compelling photographic exhibition curated by jazz musician, journalist and Women in Jazz Media editor Fiona Ross, showcasing powerful images that capture the presence, artistry and stories of women. Bringing the exhibition to life, an exceptional all-female jazz ensemble led by Dutch vocalist Flora de Geus will perform a vibrant programme celebrating the rich legacy and contemporary influence of women in jazz.
Guests will also hear from Annemijn van der Broek the Deputy Head of Mission of the Dutch Embassy in London, alongside Fiona Ross and Flora de Geus, who will share insights into the significance of championing women's voices in the arts and beyond.
Join us for an evening that celebrates talent, creativity and connection while reaffirming a simple but powerful message: when women are seen and heard, society becomes richer, more inclusive and more vibrant for everyone.
Photography. Music. Conversation. A celebration of women and a call to keep their stories at the forefront.
This event is kindly sponsored by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands
