About The Event

Pride Month - Celebrating Love, Equality & Community

June is Pride Month in the UK. Join us for a special evening marking three remarkable milestones: 25 years of same sex marriage in the Netherlands, 30 years of Amsterdam Pride (with WorldPride and EuroPride taking place in Amsterdam this summer!), and 10 years of same sex weddings at the Dutch Church in London.

Film Screening

We're kicking off the evening in the Social Hall, with a screening of three short films curated by Roze Filmdagen:

WETBOY - Yentl Vlachos

On the struggles of adolescence and young queer identity. The story follows best friends Sef and Lucas, who share a confusing underwater kiss, leading to tension and intense emotional struggle for Sef.

PAKKA - Iniyavan Elumalai

A group of gay Indian friends in The Netherlands spending a final night together before one returns home for an arranged marriage, testing their chosen family bond

NOT BUILT TO LAST - Deniz Arikan

In Rotterdam, a city of rebuilding and memory, two architects spend a day together. As Daniel guides Emre, a visitor from Istanbul, their encounter turns intimate, revealing differences in freedom, identity and the idea of home.

The screenings are followed by an engaging Q&A with Yentl Vlachos, director of Wetboy.

Festive Celebration

The celebration then moves to the church hall, where Rev. Bertjan van de Lagemaat will offer a word of welcome after which the Festive Celebrations will be officially opened with a toast by Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Paul Huijts.

Dress for the occasion, raise a glass to celebrate diversity, meet the community, and enjoy Miss Cartier in a Live Act to round off the festivities.
